Indications of Fexo 60
Fexo 60 is a member of the class of drugs known as antihistamines. It is employed in the treatment of a number of allergic diseases, including hay fever, conjunctivitis, and some skin reactions like eczema, hives, and reactions to bites and stings. Additionally, it stops itching, sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes.
Pharmacology
An antihistamine with selective peripheral H,-receptor antagonist activity is fexofenadine hydrochloride. After oral administration, fexofenadine is rapidly absorbed, and peak plasma concentrations are attained in 2–3 hours. About 60toTOo/o of it is bonded to plasma proteins. Only 0.5% to 1.5% of the total doses are biotransformed in the liver by the cytochrome P456 system, with the majority of the remaining doses being metabolized by the intestinal mucosa. The reported elimination half-life is 14 hours, though patients with renal impairment may experience a longer half-life. Only 100/o is excreted in the urine; the majority is excreted in the feces. The blood-brain barrier does not appear to be crossed by fexofenadine.

Interaction of Fexo 60
When combined with erythromycin or ketoconazole, fexofenadine plasma concentrations have been found to increase. Fexofenadine absorption is decreased by antacids that contain aluminum and magnesium hydroxide. Fexofenadine's bioavailability may be decreased by fruit juices, including grapefruit, so taking the two together is not recommended.
Contraindications
Fexofenadine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
Side Effects of Fexo 60
Headache, tiredness, sleepiness, nausea, dry mouth, and gastrointestinal problems are all common adverse effects.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Fexofenadine Hydrochloride is classified as pregnancy category C by the US Food and Drug Administration. So, unless the potential advantages to the other outweigh the potential dangers to the fetus, Fexofenadine Hydrochloride should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings
Patients who are old or have impaired renal function should be treated with caution.
